Death Penalty for Texting…..

Posted on Updated on

I just read this article on http://www.cnn.com/2014/01/13/justice/florida-movie-theater-shooting/index.html?hpt=hp_c2 – Basically what it boils down to is, a guy was texting in a theater and it irritated another person who felt that the appropriate response was to shoot him.  Really?!?!? When did it become copacetic to just shoot someone when they do something you don’t like? Yeah, texting in a movie theater is very annoying. VERY.  But is it really worth throwing your life away to murder someone for it? Apparently for that guy it was. I think that people need to lighten up, live and let live, you can’t let every annoying thing another person does get to you or you are just wasting precious time that you could be doing ANYTHING else.

The killer was 71 years old. What, are they going to convict him and give him life imprisonment (both years)? I have learned that, past the age of 70, one can pretty much get away with any crime. Even if the perp is convicted, he or she will likely be dead before all appeals are exhausted. Sad.

It takes a really wicked person to do something like that. I thought that with age was supposed to come wisdom…it is really heartbreaking.

It’s been just fine to do so in Texas for generations, now. I would have sworn this happened there.
